Is SFMC doing anything else to foster recruitment?
SFMC has a group of excellent teaching physicians who have been willing to spend time teaching and training residents and students. Unfortunately this has not led to many successes on a recruitment level. SFMC has long requested an establishment of a rural type of program where residents/students are in the community for longer duration. Discussions with the Department of Family Medicine are ongoing in this regard. SFMC has also provided cash incentives to recent recruits.
