Is Serges (from X2) really Dr. Wily?
Probably not. This is a rumor that grew widespread from two factors. The mangas, and the [/mmx/resources/rmx2script.txt literal Japanese translation] of MMX2. In the mangas, Serges is Dr. Wily. But like the Mega Man Cartoon and the MegaMissions cards, this has little storyline credibility, as it gets many facts wrong. It shouldn’t be used as a resource for game plot information. The literal translation is different, though. For one, Wily and Serges do look a bit alike. Serges seems to be very intelligent of X and Zero’s pasts, and upon being defeated by X in the final states, says that he has been beaten by Light’s creation “again.” All of these are easily explained, though. The first and second point are paired, honestly. When trying to come up with an intelligent character, Capcom made an old man possibly because that is the typical “look” for an intelligent character.
