Is second trimester multiple marker screening necessary if first-trimester screening was done?
Information is still being collected which compares results from first and second-trimester screening tests. Although first-trimester screening has been shown to be a more accurate assessment of risk for Down syndrome, some doctors believe that having both first and second trimester testing provides a more thorough screening in pregnancy.
