Is screen printing an expensive hobby/art to get into?
Starting out can be expensive because of all the experimenting with how you want to transfer images onto the screens. Once you find what suits you best, then the most expensive part are getting good screens/frames… or if you’re looking to get one of those machines that do 3-5 shirts at a time… Plus, you can find ways to be more efficient preparing the screens. A lot of folks bypass the art of preparing the screen and print them up with their computers directly onto the screen, but that takes out part of the fun. I like to only use printouts to make transparencies to use with the photo emulsion stuff.
