No science is not self contradictory. Science is a methodology humans use to acquire knowledge and to manipulate the forces of nature. This system is based on a set of assumptions (axioms) Scientist use to create theories (theorems). One assumption is that there is a world outside the mind. The scientific claim “electrons exist” is not self contradictory statement because it is based on the assumption that sophism is false therefore objects outside our minds exist. This is a straw man argument, you’re attacking claims that Science does not make. How do we know an evil demon is not manipulating our minds into experiencing everything we sense? How do we know were not brains in a vat with electrodes attached to the cerebellum that send electrical impulses to neurons, deceiving us into believing everything we perceive. These are great questions, but they’re not questions Science aims to answer. The success of science leads many people to believe that it is the be all and end all for attain
