Is Schooner Village a gated community?
Good question. Although some have thought that the entry buildings are guarded, they are not. The entrance buildings at each end of the subdivision are multi-purpose. They have full basements that house the utilities for the antique street lighting and entrance irrigation controls. The entrance building at Pitchers Way also serves as the Schooner Village post office. In the winter children can use the inside seating to wait for their bus. The building is heated and has a digital entry keypad. (click here for photos).
