Is school the best place to learn about sexuality?
Teaching sexuality at school provides students with skills and knowledge to develop healthy, safe and positive attitudes towards sexuality. Students are exposed to a great deal of information about sex and sexuality everyday in the playground, in the media and by observing adults and adolescents. The teaching of human sexuality within PDHPE provides all students with consistent and accurate information that can aid in dispelling myths and misunderstandings. School also provides a forum for students to discuss concerns and issues, ask questions and make comments within a supportive environment, with a trusted adult.
