JohnsonDiversey is one of the four separate companies controlled by the Johnson family, all of which are headquartered in Racine, Wisconsin. The other three companies are SC Johnson, Johnson Financial Group, and Johnson Outdoors, Inc. JohnsonDiversey began as part of SC Johnson, years ago, and was focused on commercial cleaning products and systems. In 1999, it separated from SC Johnson, becoming a stand-alone company called Johnson Wax Professional. In 2002, it acquired DiverseyLever to become JohnsonDiversey Inc. In 2009, along with a recapitalization deal to enable further growth, the company announced it will transition to the name Diversey, Inc.
