Is saying “Oh my God!” considered as saying the Lords name in vain?
It really depends on how one says it. It will also depend on what is in the innermost recesses of the mutterer’s heart. If the person was really appalled and wanted to invoke on the Lord’s name to help him in that particular situation, it’s okay. If one just says it for the sake of saying it and as the way he says it is likened to blurting of expletives, then it is considered as disrespectful and uttering the Lord’s name in vain. 2. We know that God’s name is often used carelessly in the locker room, in the plant, and often is general conversation.
