Is Salvador, Bahia in Brazil culturally diverse?

0

Ethnic wise: 54,9% of the population is a mixture of white and black, 26% are pure black, 18,3% is white and 0,7% Asian and native Indian. Salvador has the biggest population of African descendants. New York comes in second place. Most African descendants came from Angola, Mozambique and other former African colonies of Portugal. The African culture had a big impact and traces can be conspicuously seen everywhere from the local cuisine and music to the way they dress and the religion. The majority of white Brazilians in Salvador came from Portugal (my family included). Racial mixture is very much present as you can see from the figure (54,9%). But you can also find bits of evey type of enthicity and every type of religion and culture, not only in Salvador, but in all of Brazil.
