Is Sadie an Italian Greyhound or a Whippet?
Because puppy mills breed most IG’s that you will find in rescue, they are not going to be the size or even look like a well bred IG from a responsible hobby breeder. I had a neighbor who had a registered IG that was 25 lbs, bigger than some Whippets. I rescued an IG that was 20 lbs. That is really smaller than a male Whippet and his personality was more IG like, although we believed he could have been an IG/Whippet cross. Again, the puppy mills don’t always know what they are doing and could be breeding crosses of the two breeds. Your pup is very cute whatever she may be, but as someone who has owned Whippets for 35 years, I’d say she is either a large IG or an IG/Whippet mix. She does not look like a Whppet to me and at 16 lbs and 7 months would be very small for a Whippet. Whippets are about full grown at 8 – 9 months and females range from 18 – 20 inches or bigger and weigh 20 – 30 lbs or more.
