This isn’t even close. Some people will argue he was the greatest of his generation. What Sachin did for the sport is amazing, but his impact on the nation of India was far greater. The inspiration, unity, and faith he inspired with a cricket bat was second to none when it comes to India. He also opened up the game to huge publicity/advertising contracts. You can say what Sachin did for Cricket, is what Tiger did for Golf. He raised the standards of professionalism, athlete, and businessman. He will be a hero and a god to the Indian Cricket community and no matter what will remain both of those titles.
