Is S/MIME better than PGP encryption?
We think that S/MIME is superior to PGP for a variety of reasons. From an administrative perspective it is particularly good because of its strength, support for centralized key management via X.509 certificate servers, and widespread industry support. From an end-user management perspective, S/MIME is preferable because it is supported by most major email clients and does not require additional software, whereas PGP encryption requires additional plug-ins or downloads.
