Is Ruby Thewes from Cold Mountain a real person?
Ruby Thewes is a fictional character in the book “Cold Mountain” by Charles Frazier, but there were, and are, a lot of people very much like her in that part of the world. I highly suggest the non fiction book series “Foxfire” to read true stories of skill, kindness, strength, and occasional prickly common sense very much like Ruby’s.
