There has been no official word on this, but from what I heard (and I stress this is just unconfirmed rumour), Rose will not be in the 2008 Christmas special or the 2009 specials. Billie Piper has a number of other commitments, including filming for the latest Sally Lockhart mystery (follow up to “Ruby in the Smoke” and “Shadow in the North”) which is to be shown during the Christmas period. I have heard however, that Noel Clarke may be in the Christmas special and the 2009 specials as Mickey Smith (again unsubstantiated rumour). MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW The 2008 Christmas special has started filming, and various people have reported seeing two different types of Cybermen in a graveyard, which appear to be working together. The standard Cybus Industries type, as well as a bronze coloured “diamond headed” type that we haven’t seen before.
