Is “romeo and juliet” a perfect tragedy?

Yes it is because Romeo and Juliet had more than one opportunity to be together. Capulet wanted Juliet to choose her own suitor. Montague wanted Romeo to be happy no matter what. This makes the story much more tragic. The whole thing could have been avoided if they told their parents. Instead they told the Nurse and Friar Lawrence, who only made the situation worse. The Nurse tried to be a friend instead of being the responsible adult that she should be. She should’ve’ told the Capulets about Romeo and Juliet. Same goes for Friar Lawrence. He also could’ve told either the Montagues or the Capulets. But he was much to afraid of getting into trouble with the two noble houses. He also could’ve let Juliet escape to where Romeo was living after he was banished on a horse or something. Instead he devised a plan with a poison, which is another opportunity lost. These things made the play much for tragic.
