Is Rochdale Infirmary closing?
NO it isn’t. It will still continue to treat the vast majority of people. The Infirmary is going to become a locality hospital. This means it will focus on providing the best possible care for patients with common conditions who need routine procedures and it will also become a specialised centre for the diagnosis and treatment of heart disease. As well as this, the Infirmary will bring together a range of other services not usually provided at one hospital including social care, out of hour’s services, dental services, mental health services and more.
