A retired district engineer for the Illinois Department of Transportation, Risinger has a long history in that field and it’s near and dear to his heart. He retired from IDOT in 1999 after 35 years and was elected senator in 2002. “(Risinger) would be a great choice whether it’s a Republican or Democratic governor. He’s well-thought of on both sides of the political aisle.
