Is Revolver more innovative than Pet Sounds?

I think that song-writing-wise, Revolver is a lot more innovative than Pet Sounds, seeing as there’s a bunch of different sounds in that album (Good Day Sunshine; Here, there and everywhere; Taxman) I’ve always found that the Beatles were better song-writers, but the Beach boys had more variety in their actual renditions of the song (the vocals are mind-blowing) For Pet Sounds, I think that it’s a very elaborate piece of work, and it was so different, what with all the bike bells and whatnot. I mean, have you HEARD God Only Knows? Yes, I’m sure you have. To answer your question, I don’t think it’s a question of which one was more innovative, it’s more a question of why the hell no band was able to recreate that magic after the 70s.
