Is Resident Evil: Code Veronica a Dreamcast exclusive?
Previously Shinji Mikami had promiced Resident Evil: Code Veronica to be a Dreamcast exclusive. However with the 5th Anniversary of the Biohazard/Resident Evil series in approaching them for March 2001 the choice was made in late 2000 to bring Code Veronica to the PlayStation 2. In interviews in Japan, Mikami and the CV director Hiroki Kato, both apologized to those who rushed out to purchase the Dreamcast edition expecting it to be only one like they originally said. Code Veronica Complete, as it was known in Japan, was released on the 5th Anniversary, March 22nd 2001. The US edition, named Resident Evil Code Veronica X, is due in August (according to Capcom’s website) and comes with a DVD of Wesker’s Report and in some places a demo of Devil May Cry.
