Is religious faith a civic virtue?
Hey, I live and in America, and I don’t entirely get it either. As far as I can tell from the rhetoric, though, it boils down to a few things: -Some people seem to think that a person who follows the same religion as they do is somebody who is more likely to make decisions that are in line with what their religion dictates. -Some people are afraid that if they elect somebody with no religion or a different religion, they will make rules that generally impede Christian religious expression. Eg. Supposedly there is a faction of godless liberals who want to ban public religious Christmas displays as much as possible. And they also want to ban students in public schools from getting together at lunch to talk about Jesus. -Some people are under the impression that someone who shares their religion is more trustworthy.
