Is religion compulsory in schools of ENGLAND or most schools are secular?

By far the most schools, certianly state owned ones, are secular overall. Religious education is compulsory, which mainly focuses on abrahamic religions and spirituality. This must be studied up to 16, although religion is never forced onto people within regular state schools. There are some part church/part state funded schools which belong to a particular religion, this is particularly common in Roman Catholic communities. These teach to the values of their religion. Generally, it is the active choice of the student and parent whether to go to a mainstream school or a faith school, taking into account that many faith schools can miss out certain parts of the curriculum to fit their values. As a side point, in all primary schools (ages 4-11), assemblies teaching about the most common faith within the school are also compulsory, although they do not make up a significant part of the curriculum. This is usually Anglican Christianity, though this is not always the case in ethnically dive
