Is religion a major theme in Coleridges Rime of the ancient Mariner?
Religion is a theme within the poetry of all Romantic poets which must be a major theme in all the poetry of the period. If Coleridge, Wordsworth and other romantic poets belivied in the power of nature and the ideas of Russeau then Religion must be regarded as a key element in discussing the other subordinate issues. Nature and religion are interlinked in all ther poetry of the period and therefore it must be an important factor.
