Is Red Wing pottery still produced?
The last of the original Red Wing potteries closed it’s doors in 1967 after a labor strike (among other things) forced it out of business. There is a new pottery in Red Wing now, the Red Wing Stoneware Company, that is currently manufacturing and selling stoneware items to the public. To the untrained eye the new wares look much like some of the old so watch out! New items are typically bottom marked with a round, blue ink stamp with a wing in the middle and the words “RED WING STONEWARE CO. RED WING MN”.
