Is reading vampire books a sin?

Poor grammar is a sin for sure! But yes, reading vampire books would be a sin for a Christian because it is not something that exalts Christ and gives a good impression.

No, reading fantasy isn’t a sin. Biting the binding and sucking out the glue may well be a sin.

I don’t believe any kind of reading material is necessarily sinful. I think all things that have been well-written can have some gain to be found in reading them, whether in learning, entertainment, or simple pleasure and relaxation. That said, the only vampires books I’ve read have left me wanting more–as in, something of better quality, not necessarily more of the subject matter. I also don’t believe in the devil. I believe that God gave each of us the ability to do great good or great evil in the world and it’s in our power to decide what lasting legacy we’ll leave on this world. And, no matter what some people might think, I don’t think what we read necessarily influences that at all.
