Is reading plain guitar music just the same with bass guitar?
There’s only one type of music, which includes both bass clef and treble clef. The range of a piano covers the full range. A guitar typically covers the treble clef, so you typically don’t see notes down in the bass area. Thus, if you’re used to reading music for guitar, then, you’ll have to learn the notes down in the bass clef area.
