Is reading comic books a geeky thing to do?
I agree with the 2nd user who answered. Reading comics will be viewed as a geekey habit by one part of society. But in order to be able to label this habit as ‘geeky’, you have to understand what the term refers to. Here’s what the dictionaries say: “1 : a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken or snake 2 : a person often of an intellectual bent who is disliked 3 : an enthusiast or expert especially in a technological field or activity ” Let me tell you one thing. Why does ‘geek’ have to be viewed as a negative thing? There’s nothing wrong about being ‘an enthusiast or expert especially in a technological field or activity’ or being an intellectual. If people dislike you, that’s their problem. Unless you are causing serious problems to them or having a bad influence over them and over your surroundings, then there is absolutley no reason to change yourself. ‘Geek’ and ‘geeky’ are labels given by teens, especially imma
