Yes, NCCCO requires re-certification every five (5) years to ensure knowledge has been retained and to accommodate technical changes in equipment. To be re-certified, a candidate must have: passed a written Re-certification Examination at least 1,000 crane-related hours of experience within the five (5) year period of certification. Candidates who do not meet this requirement, or who did not take the Practical Test as part of their original certification, will be required to retake and pass the Practical Test. a valid medical certificate (NCCCO or DOT).
