Is rap music harmful to society?
Yes, it not a race issue either. It is harmful because it it homophobic, uses bad language and it even hurts the members of the black community that embrace it. Proof, when you see a black criminal, they are typically wearing clothing associated with the music and its message. Black people are made fun of if they don’t speak with the bad grammer the artists use. There is proof of it. I personally distance my self from it and the entire rap culture. Its not all bad though: Examples; Good: Kanye West, Common, Mos Def Don’t listen to them, but from what I heard these guys have positive lyrics with real meaning that reflect on some real issues. Bad: 50 cent, the Game, etc. I HATE these guys. They promote lost of negatives: homophobia, using the n word, swearing, demeaning women of all races, promote the gangster lifestyle.
