Is Rainbow Live a CMS?
Yes and No. Rainbow Live is an extension of Rainbow and as such it is primarily an XML editor. The Live features allow it to be used as a “lite” CMS, so you can make content and structure changes, as well as upload files and create thumbnails. The real purpose of Rainbow Live is to produce a solution for small to medium websites that don’t need the complete bells and whistles (and overhead) of a full CMS system. It also makes designing the structure of the data very easy for web developers that might have strong Flash skills but lack backend experience. • I noticed that the text editor added extra parameters and omitted the style declaration. Is this a feature of the online version and is it adjustable in the live version. When you switch from HTML mode to Rich Text mode, Rainbow converts the HTML to Flash friendly HTMLtext which carries a lot of inbuilt formatting rules.
