Is radiant heating safe for wood floors? Will it make them warp and bend?
No! Not only are wood floors perfectly safe for radiant heating, but they’re also perfectly suited for it. You can feel the gentle warmth flowing from the surface of the wood. And remember, radiant heating systems use warm—not hot—water, so it won’t feel like you’re walking on a bed of hot coals. The wood thinks the sun is shining on it through a picture window. As for warping and bending the wood floors, that sort of damage can happen when wood expands because of excessive moisture in the wood and humidity in the air. Radiant heating doesn’t emit the steam or vapor that can cause water damage, and we check to make sure the wood is just right before we do any installation. With the right radiant heating-system design, and the correct selection and proper installation of the wood flooring, there’s no need for concern. We know what we’re doing, and we’ve done it over and over again, and successfully. Don’t worry! How long does it take to install a radiant heating system? That depends on
