Is PWD Act helping visually impaired in finding jobs?

0

With regards to the policies the persons with disability (PWD) Act came into vogue in 1996. There is a 3% reservation for disable person including 1% for the visually impaired (completely or partially). So there are legal provisions already available to protect the employment aspects of the visually impaired persons. But I believe that mere legal protection will not do. The visually impaired persons should also prepare themselves to face new challenges to provide the most contemporary inputs that corporates demand. Corporate have a tendency to employee partially blinded person as it is relatively easier to handle them. So in this context what happens is the completely blind people do find it very difficult to compete in the job market because it is always easy to employee partial visually impaired person to comply with PWD norms. Secondly PWD norms are not applicable to private sector.
