Is Purina good or bad?
Works well for some dogs, and is a disaster for others. Personally I’ve found it produces masses of stool and that cancels out using it, for me. I also don’t like the way it blows up really big when in water – translate that to a dog’s stomach, and you have the potential for bloating, invho. I am however, continuing to feed the Beta Puppy (Purina made) my current pup was reared on, by her breeder, rather than switch her over at this point. She’s doing fine on it so I don’t want to rock the boat. I will however, be switching her to Burns once she’s into Adult food. Difficult to say which are the worst, or the best ……. but I’d recommend you start your puppy (if you are getting a pup) on the food he has been eating with his breeder, provided he’s doing well on it. PS I so agree about expensive not necessarily = good. Again it depends on the dog – some breeds do not need the excessively high protein count in some brands because it encourages way too much rapid growth. Hounds do best on
Purina and Pedigree get bad names from a lot of people. I happen to know many people who have had a lot of success with it. My neighbors dog could not tolerate any dog food except Purina ONE, White works well. I have used Purina and Pedigree in the past myself and had good luck with it, and only switched because I have 3 dogs , all different ages, so I switched to something I could feed them all.
Honestly, Purina foods are generally pretty terrible, especially Cat and Dog Chow. Purina One isn’t much better…Beneful is awful too. If you read the labels you’ll see why; tons of fillers, by-products and cheap ingredients that they use only b/c they are unfit for humans. See my website I made below…
purina is a bad food: by-products, refined grains & preservatives…yuck! for ratings, reviews & valuable information go to the following site: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.
