Is Puncturesafe a permanent repair?
The tyre industry claims that a “Permanent Repair” refers to a tyre repair that is permanently affixed to the puncture area by means of adhesives and/or vulcanisation. In the case of Puncturesafe the seals are positive, secure and remain airtight for the life of the tyre, but it is not a glue or an adhesive. Puncturesafe’s design means that for safety reasons the permanency of a Puncturesafe seal is contingent upon the integrity/condition of the tyre into which it is installed (i.e. it will not hide or mask dangerous punctures, and for those safety reasons it is deliberately intended not to seal this type of puncture but will give a controlled deflation, allowing the vehicle to safely come to a halt).
