Is pumpkin soup ok while on the Ultra Diet® Weight Management Programme?
Pumpkin is one of the vegetables that is recommended only once you have achieved your ideal weight and have moved on to the maintenance programme. The reason for this is that pumpkin has a relatively high glycaemic rating; although it does not have a high level of sugar, it converts quickly into glucose which may affect ketosis (staying in the pink). As pumpkin soup is a concentrated form of pumpkin this conversion into glucose is likely to occur even more rapidly, so it is not recommended whilst in the weight loss phase of the Ultra Diet Weight Management Programme.
