No, psoriasis is not just a psychological disease (psychosomatic disease). Psoriasis is a chronic, non-contagious, immune-mediated disease. It has been demonstrated that emotion and psychology (like stress or a traumatic event) and may be a trigger and a factor in the worsening of the disease but psychology is not attributed to the onset and development of the disease. It is known that the presence of psoriatic lesions can cause stress and could leave to a vicious cycle of the worsening of the disease.
