Is Pseudologia fantastica a mental illness?
it’s not a mental illness or disorder in itself but can be unofficially symptomatic of various mental illnesses and disorders, the most well known being psychopathy. It is not actually in diagnostic tools of dsmiv but is on the psychopathy register. Pathological lying would be very hard to detect because they are very good at it and would integrate the lie so well. Lots of people lie, it bugs me too when people seem to do it for no reason.
