Prulifloxacin is not yet commercially available in the United States. According to Wikipedia it has been approved for use in Japan though it doesn’t say for which condition. It also says that prulifloxacin has shown to be as effective as ciprofloxacin in clinical trials for the treatment of lower urinary tract infections. In the US, prulifloxacin is in stage three clinical trials for the treatment of infectious diarrhea, including travelers’ diarrhea.
