Is protein treatment the same as deep conditioning treatment?
A deep conditioner can have protein in it. Protein makes your hair stronger and can help repair damaged hair. So, yes, a deep conditioner can also be a protein treatment. But, not all protein treatments are deep conditioners. I use Nexxus Emergency as a protein treatment, and it’s definitely not a deep conditioner. There are also moisturizing deep conditioning treatments. You’ll find that there is protein in many of the products you use; some will be light proteins, and some might be heavy proteins.
