We have a safe water based protection solution that is rated 1 out of a maximum 5 on the EU hazard scale. It is effective on most liquid spills, giving about a minute and a half to mop up a puddle before it soaks in. It will not stop dry dirt, but will make it easier for you to dry vacuum out and eventually easier and more effective to wet clean. Certain furniture covers are not suitable for protection, but smooth light coloured fabrics are ideal.
