Is progressive taxation really unfair?
No, it is quite fair. As the bank robber said when asked why he robbed banks: “Because that is where the money is.” The same is true with taxes. You can’t raise taxes on the poor and middle class because they don’t have money. The rich do. The Republicans like to claim that raising taxes on the rich amounts to “class warfare”. The reverse is also true. Giving tax breaks mostly to the rich (as the Republicans did) also amounts to class warfare. While Republicans have proven to be incompetant at running a country, they are really good a coming up with catch phrases that really mean nothing.
