Is Pro-Set 200 priced competitively?
Market research shows that controls generally make up 10% of the cost of new injection molding machines, while it increases to approximately 30-40% of the cost of retrofitting older molding machines. Depending on system size, Pro-Set can range from list prices of $6K-$7K up to $12K or more. Given that the target for Pro-Set 200 is machines ranging from 100 tons to 1000 tons and the typical price of those types of machines ranges from $80K to $500K, Pro-Set 200 is well below the 10% benchmark for controls costs vs machine cost. Considering that comperable systems offered by other companies range from $8K to $20K and do not include some of the advanced technologies which make up Pro-Set 200 (i.e. ERC2), Pro-Set 200 is not merely priced competitively, but priced agressively.
