Is Pride and Prejudice a good book?

0

Pride and Prejudice is a wonderful book. It is witty and full of humor, the story is enjoyable and Jane Austen’s prose is pithy (she could say more in one sentence than most authors – who would have needed paragraphs to articulate the same thing). Pride and Prejudice is my favorite novel and a great comedy of manners story. When I first read Emma, I didn’t enjoy it. The reason I didn’t like it at first was due to my dislike of Emma, herself. I kept reading and was glad I did (it gets much better, Emma becomes more likable and the story is quite good), but I wouldn’t recommend Emma as the first Jane Austen book to read. Note: What’s with the thumbs down for everyone?
