Is President George W. Bush a “consensus builder” or a “rugged individualist”?
Which management style works better for leaders in today’s world? According to Stuart Graduate School of Business professor Christopher Barlow, the Bush Administration has been forced since September 11 to build consensus. Barlow says the President and his advisors realized early that their first heroic impulses might be dysfunctional or counterproductive. Professor Barlow, an expert in management and organizational behavior, is available for interviews. Members of the Illinois Air National Guard’s 183rd Fighter Wing are being called for duty. Approximately 300 members of the group will be mobilized within the month. The majority will be assigned to provide support services with the Expeditionary Combat Force in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Bosnia, Italy, Germany and France. Others will be sent to undisclosed locations as part of Operation Enduring Freedom, the name for the war on terrorism. Professor Michael I.
