Is portuguese a useful language to learn?
Laurence gave you a good answer, but be aware that there are differences between Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese and she mentioned Portuguese when she was actually talking about Brazilian Portuguese (ônibus is only used in Brazil, but the other differences are true about Portugal too). I’m saying this for you to be aware that if you decide to learn the language, do it, I think it is always good, but I advise you not to mix Portuguese with Brazilian Portuguese. Choose one and then focus on that one or you will end up mixing them. (I’m not making a drama, it’s just that the most simple sentences change (we can still understand each other) but if you say something in Portugal in a Brazilian way or something in Brazil in a Portuguese way, it is wrong. For example “I love you”. The correct way to say it in Portugal is “amo-te” and the correct way to say it in Brazil is “te amo”. You can see the differences here: http:
