Is pork really the other white meat?

0

Pork may be the Evil white meat, but it is not the Other white meat. Any meat that lies about itself might have the potential to be evil, in my opinion. While some cuts of pork may be cooked like chicken, all mammal meat is red meat. Only Poultry (and sometimes fish) has white and dark meat. In other words, nutritionists consider pork to be a red meat. It has far more bad cholesterol and saturated fat than chicken. However some gastronomists consider pork to be a white meat due to it’s light color and flavor and way it is cooked in gourmet cooking. Pork marketing took hold of this and promoted it hoping people would confuse the cooking term with the health term and think it is as healty as chicken. It is not. But like the slogan “Winston tastes good like a cigarette should”, it has entered our culture giving us misconceptions, like the latter slogan did, making us assume “Good” is an adverb instead of only an adjective and that cigarettes are pleasant tasting.
