Is population density a bad thing?

0

It completely depends on the infrastructure of the area, and relative wealth of the population. Monaco is a perfect example. Monaco is a teenie tiny little principality in France with one of the highest population densities in the world at 16,620 per square kilometer. Yet, it’s a very wealthy country with complete modern infrastructure (plumbing, electricity, phones, internet, roads). The population can afford to buy anything they need and more. Indian cities (or Manila, or Bangladesh, or wherever) lack a fully developed infrastructure, so resources/communications cannot be delivered to everyone effectively, resulting in low standard of living. The population also lacks the money to simply buy things elsewhere. Too many people draw on too few resources, so it sucks for everyone.
