Political equality assures that citizens have equal rights. Without political equality citizens lack protection of basic rights which allow economic prosperity. Like the right to keep what they’ve earned and trade freely. Tyrannical governments maintain power by giving benefits to favored groups – at the expense of everyone else. Economic equality is a fantasy, used to justify giving benefits to favored groups. A fair wage/price is the one people are willing to pay. If government tries to enforce some other idea of “fair”, the result will be less jobs – because people will be unwilling to pay. I guess they could be forced to pay – that’s where the tyranny comes in. Example: the kulaks(farmers) in soviet russia. Unwilling to accept the terms offered, they were driven off their land, killed and imprisoned. This resulted in famines in a formerly great ag exporting country.
