Is polartec fleece warm enough for cold weather?

It is not particularly warm on its own, but with a decent thermal shirt underneath, most people will find themselves warm and comfortable enough.On the Other: Not for Extreme ConditionsIf the temperature is below freezing or the weather is extreme, Polartec fleece alone will most likely be insufficient in keeping the wearer warm. It does not handle heavy wind well, and it is not waterproof. Using Polartec fleece alone for winter sports such as snowboarding is strongly discouraged.Bottom LinePolartec fleece is warm enough to keep the wearer comfortable in most reasonable situations. In harsh conditions, however, it is not sufficient by itself, and an extra jacket is recommended. In these cases, it is excellent for layering due to its light weight.
