Is PECS compatible with Skinners analysis of Verbal Behavior?
Yes!, PECS was developed with Skinner’s analysis of the functional aspects of language incorperated into each Phase and transitions between the Phases. From Skinner’s perspective, any modality (speech, sign, pictures, VOCAs, etc) are equally valid approaches to developing verbal behavior.
